Varieté! Comedy In Your Community is an 11-day festival in celebration of Children's Day, which falls on 1 October. The inaugural festival presented To laugh is to Live!, a 75 minutes theater performance featuring Kenny Ahern from USA. With 14 free public performances staged right in the heartland, reaching out to more than 7,000 children in the community.

Varieté! Comedy In Your Community aims to be a festival with a difference- bringing good quality theatre performances to the children in the heartland, whom many may not be able to afford.

To Laugh is to Live featuring Kenny Ahern

To laugh is to live! is a theatrical family escapade very few can resist. A quality family theater performance that truly plays to the whole family. It revolves around a lovable eccentric performer and his whimsical surroundings. And his reaction to each and every object that comes into his way, many times with the help of his "partners in play"- the audience.

The creative team behind To laugh is to Live!comprised of; National award winning Director, Maurice Enders, Composer George Maurer who created the original score and Scenic designer/Sculptor Michael Martino who designed and created the set inspired by Van Gogh's "Starry Night".

Kenny Ahern has toured the globe from Moscow to Minneapolis, delighting audiences of all ages with his comic antics. A few performance highlights include: The Brooks & Dunn, Neon Circus and Wild West Tour, The Moscow Circus School, Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus, The China International Children's Theatre Festival and The White House. Every performance of Kenny's is filled with inventive comic antics, audience play and hilarious body language & facial gestures. Kenny has been featured on television in CMT'S Most Wanted Live, MTV, The Family Channel Funniest Videos, Good Morning America and The Today Show.
